European Care Group opens two luxury care homes in Essex

Wed 06 2009

On the 24th March at 3pm, the Mayor of Chelmsford opened European Care Group's flagship care homes near Chelmsford in Essex. Broomfield Grange has 140 beds and Chelmsford Nursing Home 64 beds. Both homes will provide services for elderly nursing care and for people with dementia. The new facilities represent a significant investment for the group and were designed and built in partnership with R.Pickstock.

The launch event was attended by some high profile people from the local community such as the Ian Wright, Planning Committee Chairman, Rodney Bass, Vice- Chairman Essex County Council and other social services and PCT representatives.

The homes have "state of the art" features together with innovations including a "Euro Cafe" (an Alzheimer's cafe) for residents and their families.

Broomfield Grange is located on the same campus as the main NHS Trust Hospital and Chelmsford has a delightful rural aspect with charming views over the Essex countryside.

European Care is working in partnership with the Chelmsford based Anglia Ruskin University - together with the local NHS - to develop both new facilities into "Teaching Care Homes".

Anoup Treon (Chairman and CEO of European Care) said "we are very pleased to add these 2 brand new homes to our expanding portfolio. I congratulate the team from Pickstock, our staff and all who have contributed to these leading and innovative projects".

The European Care Group is the 5th largest independent provider of health and social care in the UK. It has some 130 registered services in England, Scotland and Wales, including children's residential, special schools, mental health, acquired brain injury, learning difficulties, dementia, elderly nursing and residential and end of life care
