European Lifestyles develop new children's services in Manchester

Our Children's Residential and Education Services were approached back in January 2007 to consider setting up Services in the Manchester area.

This was a direct result of successful full time Residential and Educational placements in our Liverpool services.

The Children's Team are making great strides into setting up this unique service, which offers full time Residential Care, with Education for Children and Young People in Greater Manchester. The school will be registered for ten children with an additional residential component on site.

Meetings have been held with Commissioners, Service Managers and Local Authority Social Workers from a range of different Local Authorities as the demand to place Young Persons in our service is increasing.

The team (Di Jones, Steve O'Dea, Jimmy Gaffney, Paul Cadden and Kev Dowd) met with neighbours and the Local Community (including Councillors, Police, Priest and other interested parties) to listen to their views and inform them of our plans.

The Children's Team intend to replicate this model throughout the country.
